August 25, 2023 TAHOE & TRUCKEE TRAIL REPORT
So far August has brought great conditions to our local trails. The last couple of rainstorms are keeping the dirt firm, tacky and dust free. Its a great time to get out and ride in the fresh air and cool temperatues.
Donner Lake Rim Trail:
This local favorite is in perfect condition for riding, site seeing and enjoying the wildflowers. This slightly technical climb to Tahoe Donner's Drifter Hut lookout is very scenic and flourishing with lots of local vegetation. While in the area be sure to also check out some of the Tahoe Donner Trails.
Stanfod Rock Trail:
This long climb ends with a sweet reward from the top of Stanford Rock Peak. You can see multiple peaks of the Sierra Crest as well as most of Lake Tahoe. The downhill seems like an endless rollercoaster ride with gentle berms and multiple great view points.
Flume Trail:
This classic ride, overlooking Lake Tahoe, is in perfect condition and filled with summer wildflowers. This is a great ride for a beautiful view of the Lake. As fall approaches prepare to see some fantastic Autumn colors at the base of this ride.
